Directions:
We're located mid-way between the airports at La Rochelle and Bordeaux, and within a few miles of the A10 motorway exit at Gemozac. Allow about 1 hour from airports at La Rochelle or Bordeaux and 4.5 hours from St Malo non-stop. Whichever way you take, from junction 36 of the A10 turn right at the roundabout immediately after the toll booths towards Gemozac on the D732. At the next roundabout take the left turn towards the centre of Gemozac. At the first set of traffic lights (in the town centre) turn left towards Mortagne on the D6. Drive for about 4 kilometres out of town and look for a grain silo and depot named Isodor. 100 metres after this take a left turn signposted Les Elies and La Bigorre . Follow the lane for about half a kilometre to the first left turn (by the duck pond) signposted La Bigorre. Take this lane and go straight over the crossroads and round a sharp 'S' bend. About fifty metres later our house is on the right. We don't have a house name - La Bigorre is the hamlet - so look out for the well which is situated beside the house. All our guests have found us easily but if you have any problems, ring us and we will guide you in!
Low-costs flights to La Rochelle and Bordeaux are popular, with Angouleme, Bergerac Poitiers, Limoges, Rennes, and Toulouse also very good options. Ferries on the longer Brittany crossings are good because the timings are conducive to a good night's sleep, arriving refreshed in France at about 8 a.m. We can recommend the seafood buffet in the main restaurant before retiring replete to your cabin - our favourite way to start the trip!
